Help Keep Hope Available 24/7 — Volunteer with the Violence Prevention Center

The Violence Prevention Center is looking for folks to join our team as Volunteer Advocates! As a Volunteer Advocate, you will be trained to provide confidential support to callers on the VPC’s 24 Hour Support Line after business hours. No experience is required - the VPC provides you with all required training.
With only one full time direct service advocate on staff, we rely on the dedication and support of our Volunteer Advocate Team to help us run our Support Line 24 hours a day. The VPC’s 24 Hour Support Line is one of our most vital services. During business hours 8am-4pm Monday through Friday, the line rings to the VPC office and is answered by staff. After hours, our team of Volunteer Advocates help us answer the line to maintain 24 hour coverage. This is an opportunity to become directly involved in the VPC’s work to address domestic & sexual violence and provide essential support to victims/survivors in our community. After completing advocate training, this is a relatively low commitment, high reward volunteer opportunity. If you are a good listener, have a healthy understanding of boundaries and confidentiality, and are passionate about supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence, please consider joining our Volunteer Advocate Team!
